Week beginning - Monday 6th January 2020

We have hit the ground running since returning to school after Christmas! This term our topic is Up, Up and Away where we will be focusing our learning around the 7 continents and 5 oceans.

In Maths this week we have been learning how to find 1/2 and 1/4 of a shape, number and quantity.

In our afternoon lessons we have begun by looking at Europe, focusing on France. We have learnt about the Mongolfier brothers who invented the hot air balloon. We learnt lots about them. We have designed our own hot air balloons and have begun making them. First we blew up the balloons, we then used paper mache to cover the balloon, followed by modrock. Next week we are going to paint our balloons and make the basket. Lastly we are going to evaluate what we have made.
